Product Overview

Home Life, Uninterrupted. Google Wi-Fi is a new type of connected system that replaces your router, and works with your ISP and modem to provide seamless coverage throughout your home.

Engineered for you, made by Google.

It’s everything you love about Google — smarts, security and simplicity — brought to home Wi-Fi. The Google Wi-Fi app’s easy-to-use interface gives you increased visibility and control over your network. You can see what’s connected, and prioritize a device if you’re doing something that requires more bandwidth — like streaming a movie, or joining a video call. You can also use the companion app to text visitors your network login credentials, or even setup a separate guest network for them to use.

Consistently strong Wi-Fi.

Network Assist technology works in the background to make sure you enjoy the best connection possible — no need to tweak complex settings manually. It’ll determine the least congested channel for your Wi-Fi, help your device connect to the best band (2.4GHz or 5GHz), and always connect you to the fastest Wi-Fi point.

Coverage in every room

Google Wi-Fi is designed to deliver whole-home Wi-Fi coverage that can handle all the devices you want to bring to your network. A single Wi-Fi point is great for smaller homes, while a set of three covers homes up to 4,500 sq. feet (including multi-story homes). If you need even more coverage, you can add extra Wi-Fi points at any time.

Manage your family's internet use.

Use the Google Wi-Fi app’s built-in parental controls to pause the signal to your kids’ devices, so they can still make their bedtime or focus on their homework without distractions.

Why choose a Wi-Fi system?

Rather than relying on a single router or range extenders, Wi-Fi systems — like Google Wi-Fi — use multiple points placed in rooms throughout the home. This creates something called a “mesh network”, which enables Wi-Fi systems to deliver fast, powerful, whole-home Wi-Fi coverage.

How does Google Wi-Fi compare to other Wi-Fi systems?

Allison USA, a third-party testing company, put Google Wi-Fi head-to-head against two other mesh networks, Eero and Luma, in a 3,000 sq. ft. two-story house. Google Wi-Fi came out top, performing 75% faster than Eero and twice as fast as Luma in the lower floor of the house. In the upper floor, it performed 23Mbps faster than Luma, and five times faster (185Mbps) than Eero.
