Brainstorming 101 for Salespeople

Sales can be competitive - brainstorming with team members can generate and create unique sales tactics that could lead to solid sales. Here are a few tips on how to generate effective brainstorming sessions:

  1. Goals: Writing down a list of your company's goals can help jumpstart the process of generating ideas. This gives you and your team members a general focus towards the purpose of the brainstorming session.
  2. Out-of-the-box: It is difficult coming up with creative ideas by staring at a blank dry-erase board. By placing nonrelated media items around the room - such as magazines, ads, commercials, or videos - ideas can be sparked from everyday inspiration. This will get the creative juices flowing and every one participating.
  3. All ideas are accepted: All ideas, no matter how far-fetched or impossible they may be, are valuable ones. The more ideas there are, the more likely you are to find one that fits your company's needs.
